Marilyn Harris-Davis, May 2016 Secretary's Citation Winner for Excellent Customer Service

Marilyn Harris-Davis leads the Office of Cemetery Oversight within the Maryland Department of Labor. Marilyn started with the office in February 2012. As executive director, she oversees a staff of three and an advisory council of 11 industry and consumer representatives. The Office of Cemetery Oversight was established in 1997 and licenses cemeteries, burial goods businesses, monument dealers and crematories.

Marilyn is unique because she is attorney who is passionate about public health. She consistently goes above and beyond on behalf of her customers and frequently negotiates with cemeteries to assist grief-striken individuals and families.

She also conducts outreach to stakeholders in the death care industry and has established a positive relationship with the Board of Morticians.

Marilyn is full of energy, loves to tell jokes and is a well-respected expert in the industry.

Deborah Rappazzo, May 2016 Secretary's Citation Winner for Excellent Customer Service

Debbie has worked for the Maryland Department of Labor since April 2014 as an investigator for the Office of Cemetery Oversight. She provides excellent customer service to families who have filed formal complaints and often acts as a mediator between parties in an effort to settle disputes.

Debbie loves Disney movies and is often one of the first to volunteer for special projects within the agency. Debbie is truly a team player as well as an advocate for local families in need.
