Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation - Division of Workforce Development

The Division of Workforce Development oversees the State's workforce programs. Working in partnership with Local Workforce Investment Areas, services include matching job seekers with employers, providing training opportunities and reporting on the needs and demands of the labor market. Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center (BERC)

The Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center (CCBERC) is a one-stop workforce development center dedicated to meeting the workforce needs of community residents and businesses in Carroll County, Maryland. The CCBERC is an office of the Mid-Maryland Workforce Investment Board and the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. CCBERC administers the Workforce Investment Act in Carroll County and is dedicated to employment, training and workforce development.

Professional Outplacement Assistance Center

Provides assistance to individuals who are in the professional, technical, and managerial occupations. POAC offers seminars, workshops and counseling aimed at returning the professional to work quickly. To register call 301-362-1646 or enroll online.

Department of Rehabilitation Services

The Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) offers programs and services that help people with disabilities go to work or stay independent in their homes and communities. DORS is an agency of the Maryland State Department of Education. DORS is composed of the public vocational rehabilitation program and the Disability Determination Services.
