Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation - Division of Workforce Development

The Division of Workforce Development oversees the State's workforce programs. Working in partnership with Local Workforce Investment Areas, services include matching job seekers with employers, providing training opportunities and reporting on the needs and demands of the labor market. Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland

The purpose of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland is to serve as a forum for the resolution of region-wide issues and the attainment of regional goals. The Tri-County Council is a partnership of State and local government established more then forty years ago as the regional development and planning organization for Southern Maryland.  Contact the Tri-County Council at 301-274-1922.

Department of Rehabilitation Services

The Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) offers programs and services that help people with disabilities go to work or stay independent in their homes and communities. DORS is an agency of the Maryland State Department of Education. DORS is composed of the public vocational rehabilitation program and the Disability Determination Services. Disability Navigator

The Navigator enhances the capacity of One-Stop partners to assist job seekers with disabilities to 'navigate' the various programs and systems, and be a resource for the business community. Contact Sara Muempfer for information at 443-248-3583.

U.S. Department of Labor

Fosters and promotes the welfare of he job seekers, wage earners, and retirees of the United States by improving their working conditions, advancing their opportunities for profitable employment, protecting their retirement and health care benefits, helping employees find workers, strengthening free collective bargaining, and tracking changes in employment, prices, and other national economic measurements.

College of Southern Maryland

Provides Adult Basic Skills, GED, and a variety of classes to upgrade skills, acquire new skills and certifications, as well as career and job development assistance, follow-up support and academic counseling.

Department of Social Services

A division of the Maryland's Department of Human Resources, the Department of Social Services aggressively pursues opportunities to assist people in economic need, provides prevention services, and protects vulnerable children and adults in Southern Maryland.
