The maximum weekly unemployment insurance benefit amount is increasing from $410 to $430 for all
new claims filed on or after October 4, 2010. If you are filing your internet claim during the week of
September 27 to October 1, 2010, the maximum weekly benefit amount you may be eligible for is $410.
Unemployment insurance benefits are based on your prior earnings and range from $25 to the maximum allowed
under the law.
If you file your claim on the internet at this time, and are eligible for the maximum, your benefits
will not be increased above the $410 amount. If you would like more information, click on the link to
the Maryland Unemployment Insurance Claim Centers and call the
center nearest to your home between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO WAIT TO FILE YOUR CLAIM UNTIL OCTOBER 4, 2010, YOU WILL NOT
BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS FOR THE WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 2, 2010.
