Adult High School Pilot
Solicitation for Proposals
The Adult High School Pilot establishes an alternative method for adults, who did not graduate from high school, to earn a high school diploma and potentially earn post secondary credit or an industry-recognized certification in an environment that meets the needs of the adult learner. The pilot program, established by House Bill 1381, is effective July, 1 2017. A maximum of six pilot programs may be approved to establish an adult high school.
The Adult High School Pilot is under the authority of the Maryland State Department of Education and the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
Non-profit organizations interested in applying to become a pilot operator will need to submit a detailed proposal, including a three-year budget. Refer to the Solicitation for Proposals for complete description of eligible applicants.
Public funding is not provided for the pilot.
