IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS FOR THE LICENSING EXAMINATION: PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY QUALIFY TO SIT FOR THE LICENSING EXAMINATION UNDER THE CLARB’S EXAMINATION STANDARDS, YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE REQUISITE EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AS A MARYLAND CANDIDATE. IF YOU INTEND TO TAKE ALL OR ANY PART OF THE CLARB EXAMINATION WITH A GOAL OF BECOMING A MARYLAND LICENSED LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, YOU MUST FIRST FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE MARYLAND STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS TO ASCERTAIN YOUR REQUISITE PRE-EXAMINATION QUALIFICATIONS.

IN ADDITION, PLEASE NOTE THAT BEGINNING IN 2004, SECTIONS A, B, AND D (THE MULTIPLE-CHOICE SECTIONS) WILL BE ADMINISTERED DIRECTLY BY CLARB USING EXCLUSIVELY A COMPUTER-BASED, TEST ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM. THE MARYLAND BOARD WILL NO LONGER BE INVOLVED IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF THESE PORTIONS OF EXAMINATION. ONCE YOU ARE APPROVED BY THE MARYLAND BOARD AS AN EXAMINATION CANDIDATE, PLEASE CONTACT CLARB DIRECTLY ABOUT THE SCHEDULE AND FEES ASSOCIATED WITH TAKING SECTIONS A, B, AND D.

Welcome to our home page. The State Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects licenses and regulates landscape architects, and partnerships and corporations through which landscape architecture is practiced under the provisions of Business Occupations and Professions Article, Title 9 and Code of Maryland Regulations 09.28. The Board also investigates complaints against licensees, as well as complaints related to unlicensed practice. The Board may issue a reprimand, suspend, or revoke a license and / or impose a fine.
