Question 3: Maryland’s Workforce System partners are committed to implementing the Benchmarks, but it sounds as if this will be a huge undertaking. How will management, partners, and staff, your “front line” messengers of the Benchmarks achieve these 5 goals?

Secretary Padilla’s Response:

By using consistent messaging and providing enhanced staff training to connect customers to our services, will result bringing more jobseeker and employers into Maryland’s Workforce System;

Applications/Tactics to be Used by Management/Partners/ and Staff:

  • Professional development and follow-up – training and ongoing training
  • Reward good work
  • Monthly newsletter
  • Consistent messaging
  • Signs in AJCs, local DSSs, DORS, and all WIOA partnerships
  • E-mail bites – small bits of strategically disseminated info promoting cultural change
  • Canned presentations, roadshows, webinars
